Hello Dear Friends,

One of the joys that yoga has brought me is the ability to work joyfully at the things I love, work smart, and take time to have fun.  Yoga wisdom asks us:  are we living to work? Or working to live?   Those who know me well see me passionate about my work, but at the same time able to completely leave it for rest and fun.  Learning to rest deeply is a very important part of yoga.  Most of us are not getting the rest we need in our nightly sleep.  That is why restorative classes, and retreats are so very important.

Last summer I went to a weeklong Retreat at Feathered Pipe Ranch in Montana with a few friends.  We went to spend a week with Lilias Folan.  Many of you may know her, or remember her teaching yoga on black and white TV years ago in a leotard, long braid, and huge smile.  Now in her 70’s, Lilias is such a wonderful spirit, and great teacher.   We spent a week on sacred land where thousands of yogis have retreated before us, being served amazing food, doing easy enjoyable yoga, hiking, massage, women’s dance and song.

When you are new to retreating, it is a bit scary at first, especially when you go without anyone you know, or have never done yoga before.  But you never regret going.  It is so much easier than you think it will be, and being with like-minded women touches you at a heart level that is life changing.

This month we will be doing our 6th Annual Women’s

Gentle Yoga Retreat at beautiful Angels Landing in Julian, California.  It is just a short weekend, beginning May 30, Friday – Sunday, but we come away each year feeling as though we have had a whole weeks vacation.

This year Marguerite will be in Italy, so I have invited Carolyn Henry, energy healer, life coach, and owner of Healing H’Arts to co-teach with me.  In addition to gentle yoga, and joyful active movement, Caralyn will lead:

  • Storytelling with dance/movement
  • Exploring the four faces of feminine psyche
  • The wisdom of Crone~journaling

We invite you to join us for a joyous weekend of rest and fun.

Check out a letter below that I received last year after the retreat.

Many blessings!

Lanita: Hi! Just wanted to write a quick note to thank you for one of the
most wonderful weekends I have had in quite a while.

Thoughts of the retreat soothed me as I returned to my busy, city life and
these three words kept coming to mind:

*relaxing
*revealing
*rejuvenating

Everything about the weekend was relaxing. The beauty of Angel's Landing
and time spent doing yoga, meditating, getting my massage and daydreaming
was wonderful. And having the opportunity to experience and share it all
with a group of such warm, accepting, and intuitive women was an added
blessing.

Relaxing allowed me to slow down, reflect and enjoy learning a little about
myself. Sitting and talking with other women, sharing in their experiences
and learning from their insight was time very well spent.

I left the retreat feeling refreshed and thankful that I chose this time to
take care of myself. I will definitely be one of the first women to sign
up for the retreat next year!

Thanks again,
Theresa
