"It is a pleasure to support you, your work, and all of the wonderful people at the Center. You have brought such a sense of deepness and richness in the creation of your Yoga community. I think often of all of the folks who would not have been introduced to Yoga if you had not followed your heart and offered it to the "general" average population who have aches, pains, weight problems and yet who still want to be emotionally fit! Those Yoga masters who have gone before you would be very proud of what you have done to bring Yoga to people who would never have had the opportunity. I admire your wholehearted authenticness every day!" (11/16/08)

"I want to thank the gifted staff and members at A Gentle Way Yoga for being a critical part to my recovery from the most difficult physical and mental hurdle in my adult life.
Before coming to A Gentle Way Yoga for a pre-natal class, I enjoyed active yoga classes. I even sweated through a few Bikrram (hot yoga) classes. When my daughter was a year and a half old and I had just returned to work, my body flared up with a rare autoimmune disease. It became impossible for me to do any athletic activities; it was even challenging to do regular household chores and care for my daughter. I was extremely stressed and upset that my body hurt and wouldn’t do what it once could. Fortunately, I remembered A Gentle Way offered slower classes, and decided to give this type of yoga a try.
Those first classes I took at A Gentle Way (Meditation in Movement/Restorative Yoga) were very emotional for me. I recall Lanita saying “rotate your ankles, wiggle your toes, and thank them for the many miles they have taken you.” As I focused on my swollen feet and what they could do and used to do, I cried and released a lot of tension. This was the case for many of the classes I took, as I went through the stress of physical and emotional pain, diagnosis, working, and mothering.
It was challenging for me to slow down, pay attention to my body, and listen to what it was saying. The few minutes of Savasana at the end of each yoga class, when the teacher wasn’t leading the class, that quiet time was hard – I couldn’t turn my brain off and relax.
Two years later, I long for Savasana! I crave the slow, deep stretching I can do in class. Even though I can do more physically, and I do take active yoga classes again, I also need my slow/meditative classes. I continue to require help listening to my body. The more active I become, the more assistance I need in slowing down to notice what tension (muscle or emotional) is building up again. Yoga helps me look deep inside, discover and release unwanted tension and maintain a healthier lifestyle." (06/30/08)

"I love all the classes and teachers at A Gentle Way. There is magic in the "Meditation in Movement Style" gentle yoga classes. By attending consistently, I get to see what even your staff teachers here don’t see – the way to teach who shows up, not just the yoga pose. I think a lot of teachers don’t even realize how wide your teaching range is, or how very deep gentle yoga really is.”

Dear Lanita,
I want to say how impactful attending classes with you is, and has been since I started. You hold a depth that is palpable that holds a space and mirrors back that depth in me. I feel so peaceful, expanded and connected by coming to yoga regardless of the asanas that we do. You work from the inside out. I am so, so grateful! Thank you for all you do creating a studio, raising a family, not easy. But you have created a beautiful profound space and serves so many.
Warmly,
Lynn Francis, Life Coach.
